Introduction:
At Briight, we believe in the power of networking, forming relationships, and fostering a sense of community. After experiencing the tremendous benefits of business networking ourselves, we were determined to bridge the gap between creatives and businesses in our local community. Thus, the idea for Briight’s Social Slice was born—an innovative and delicious way to connect with companies while showcasing our pizza-making skills.
We believe that the best connections are made in a relaxed and informal setting, so we intentionally created an environment where people can let their guard down and simply enjoy the company of like-minded individuals. No stuffy conference rooms and rigid agendas. Instead, there’s pizza and authentic conversations that flow naturally.
Networking: Where Pizza Meets Professional Cheese
While it may seem that Social Slice is simply an excuse to indulge in mouthwatering pizza – and we regularly conduct tase trials internally – it’s so much more than that. Research consistently shows that in-person networking events offer unique advantages that online interactions simply cannot replicate. According to a study conducted by Harvard Business Review, face-to-face interactions are 34 times more effective in establishing trust and building long-term relationships than their online counterparts. And that’s certainly been our experience. So, while we savour each slice of pizza, we also relish the chance to connect with fellow professionals on a personal level.
Pizza, Passion, and Pepperoni Pals
The event brings together between 30 and 50 business and creative professionals who share a passion for success and a love for great food. As the enticing aroma of freshly baked pizzas fills the air, conversations flow effortlessly, enabling participants to forge meaningful connections that go beyond the confines of a LinkedIn profile. Already we’ve seen several collaborations happen between attendees and a whole heap of relationships strengthened.
Creativity and business go hand in hand, and Social Slice provides the perfect setting for these worlds to collide. As we break bread and share stories, new ideas flourish and innovative partnerships are formed. By combining the imaginative spirit of creatives with the strategic thinking of business professionals, Social Slice becomes a melting pot of ideas, unlocking endless possibilities for growth and success.
Dough! The Failed Launch That Became a Recipe for Laughter
Well, let’s just say our grand launch of Social Slice was a learning opportunity (not a failure), and we can laugh about it now. While our main goal was to foster connections, we also had to raise our own profile after a recent rebrand. Amidst our genuine and uncynical approach to connecting people the profile-raising aspect was lost, as we were mistaken for a catering company instead of the visual marketing powerhouse we are.
As a marketing agency that preaches the power of clear messaging, it was a real slice of irony. But if you ignore the fact that amongst the 70 or so people at the launch event mistook us for a catering company, it was successful in bringing people together AND we were able to retroactively let people know these amazing pizzas aren’t even the thing we’re best at (that’s visual marketing btw!).
Slice, Eat, Connect, Repeat
Briight’s Social Slice is more than just a networking event—it’s a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and community. By combining the joy of pizza with the power of in-person networking, we’ve created a unique platform where professionals can connect, share ideas, and forge meaningful relationships. As research consistently supports the advantages of face-to-face interactions, Social Slice stands as a testament to the lasting impact of in-person networking.
We’ll see you at the next one.
